You might consider the following points as part of your decision making process:
Is the nursery warm and friendly, are the staff welcoming and enthusiastic and do they relate well to the children? |
Are parents welcome to visit at all times? |
What type of menu is on offer? |
Do the children appear involved, secure, active and happy? |
Are the staff qualified and does the nursery adhere to a strict staffing ratio? |
Is there a key worker system in place? |
Are the children separated into appropriate age groups and is there a good selection of play materials and learning aids for each group? |
Is there a quiet area with interesting and appropriate activities? |
Is there an outside play space for children and/or are they taken to the park or playground? |
Is the Nursery Registered and compliant with Childcare, Educational Development, Health and Safety Legislation, The Children Act 1989 and OFSTED Accreditation? |
