ROSEDENE OPEN 24-HOUR CHILDCARE CENTRES FOR DESIGNATED KEY WORKERS ACROSS TEES VALLEY AND NORTH YORKSHIRE
Together, we continue to face a truly unprecedented situation. The global Coronavirus pandemic is affecting all our families, businesses, communities and way of life, with many childcare providers forced to close their doors.
The government has recognised the vital role of early years and the childcare sector. Those who work in the education and childcare sector rightly take their place next to our NHS staff and other critical workers as central to our efforts in battling this virus.
The government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend. Those children include vulnerable children, and children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home.
In response to this request, Rosedene has created four special facilities across Tees Valley and North Yorkshire to provide childcare provision.
The hubs, which are located close to key medical sites including James Cook Hospital, North Tees Hospital, Northallerton Hospital and the primary care facilities in Redcar, will be open 24/7 to cater for the shifts patterns of workers including doctors, nurses, paramedics, police and fire officers, care workers and the wider range of people classified as key workers.
They will offer funded and non-funded places for children from 0 – 11 years of age and are fully insured and Ofsted registered with caring and professional qualified staff.
Rosedene employees have been extremely positive and supportive, and for this reason Rosedene are able to maintain their service and offer a wide range of care options to support the current needs.

Alice McCullagh, director of Rosedene Nurseries, said: “We have created one key worker childcare hub in each of the local authority areas in which we operate, which can be accessed by eligible parents, regardless of where they live and if they are an existing customer or not. They all have strict hygiene procedures in place to give parents peace of mind that their child is safe and well cared for.
“To enable key workers to go to work and save lives, these four childcare centres will be open twenty fours hours a day, including weekends. We know that many designated key workers are working long hours and different shifts, we will be totally flexible as we understand that during the pandemic people can’t always choose the hours that they will be needed to work.”
“If we can provide children with a ‘normal’ and happy environment during these challenging times whilst relieving the worry of childcare from designated key workers, we will be happy that we are fulfilling our role.”
